As the course title indicates, we will study both the doctrinal foundations of the Reformed faith and the common expressions of our faith in the Christian life, illustrated by 1 Timothy 4:16 to pay attention to our doctrine and our lives in order to save both ourselves and those who hear us. Beginning with an overview of the symphonic DRL-lex Christi6R’s perspective, we will study the Dominion of the Righteous Lord (DRL) by lex Christi (law of Christ) using 6 “R” verbs: research, reckon, reassure, reform, remove, with evaluation of results. We will study both the five standard Reformation solas, as well as several other biblical solas for a more comprehensive understanding, integrated with the righteousness meta-narrative: Soli Deo Gloria (Glory be to the Righteous God alone), Sola Christos (Righteous Christ alone) Sola Spiritus (Righteous Spirit alone), Sola Gratia (grace alone), Sola Fide (faith alone) and Sola Scriptura (Righteous Scripture alone), Soli Lex (The righteous law alone), and Sola Spes (hope of righteousness alone) concluding with a brief history of the righteous Reformed Churches (Solus Ecclesia).
